Going to Isla Verde
Verde Island is located off the coast of Batangas City. To reach the island, you will travel by land to Batangas City and then take a boat across the Verde Island Passage.
This guide is for those traveling from Metro Manila by bus instead of a private vehicle.
There are two main ways to get there:
Public boat from Tabangao Port
Private charter boat from Barangay Ilijan
Because trips are limited, planning ahead is important.

Step 1: Travel from Manila to Batangas City
From Metro Manila, take a bus bound for Batangas City Grand Terminal.
Bus terminals include:
Alabang Metropolis
Buendia – LRT
Cubao
Take an early morning trip around 4:00 AM. This will give you enough time to catch the boat.
Step 2: From Grand Terminal to Tabangao Port
Public Boat Schedule
You will need 2 jeepney rides. Combined fare: about 40 pesos.
From Batangas City Grand Terminal, take a jeepney going to Bagong Palengke (New Market).
At Bagong Palengke, transfer to another jeepney going to Tabangao.
Tell the driver you will get off at “Biyaheng Isla Verde.”
Alternatively, you can hire a jeepney from Grand Terminal for around 2-3k.

Travelers who miss the public boat trip.
To get to Ilijan from Metro Manila by bus, follow Step 1 of going to Verde Island via Public Boat, which is to get to Batangas City Grand Terminal. The next step is to get to Bagong Palengke and transfer to a jeepney bound to SM City Batangas. You will find the jeepneys to Ilijan at SM's parking lot. Fare: 50.00 to 60.00.
Alternatively, you can hire a jeepney from Grand Terminal to Ilijan. Jeepney rental fee: around 2,500.00
Private Boat Rental Rates for Verde Island
20-Seater Motorized Banca, one-way rate: 5,000.

You can also charter a private boat.
Private boats usually depart from Barangay Ilijan in Batangas City. The boat trip is shorter, thus the rental fee is cheaper, but the land travel is longer. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours from Grand Terminal to Ilijan. Private boats also use Tabangao as pick-up / drop-off, but the rental fee is usually 1,000 - 2,000 pesos more expensive.
Tip: Need to go shopping? Shop at Bagong Palengke before you take the jeepney ride to Tabangao. It's open from 2 AM.
